Christmas Cantata - December 20

Our annual Christmas Cantatawas held on December 20th. A brass ensemble played for half an hour before Heaven's Child was presented by a choir made up of members from several community congregations. An offering was gathered for a local family in need, and brought in almost $800. With matching funds from Thrivent, and our Women's group, this family will receive $1400 to help alleviate costs associated with a young child's medical condition. Thanks to all who supported this cause.

Goods were also collected to go to Juniata County Food Pantry.

Christmas Eve Service

Our Christmas Eve worship service is shared with our sister church in the parish. This year, we will be hosting it in Richfield. There will be one service, at 8:30 PM. This is a new time, and we will not have a late service. Please join us for this celebration of the birth of Christ. The service includes children's sermon, Holy Communion and the candlelit singing of Silent Night.

New videos posted

2007 was an anniversary year for St John Lutheran, and instead of a printed book of history, we produced a DVD film about who we were at the time. Though 2 years old now, it is still a current representation of what our congregation is about. You can see all the videos on this page.  In additon, all of Pastor Weaver's Advent sermons will be posted. The first two are here.

October 25 is Reformation Sunday. Our Synodical Bishop, Rev. Robert Driesen will be with us for morning worship. We will also have a potluck meal following the service with a presentation on mission opportunities from a member of a nearby Lutheran church with experience in mission trips.

Luther League Fall Fest was held on October 23, at our sister church in Mt Pleasant Mills.
